CLEVELAND, Ohio — ESPN host Paul Finebaum is nearing a decision to leave the network and enter politics, with a potential U.S. Senate run in Alabama on the horizon, according to Front Office Sports .
The sports commentator, who has no political experience, is considering running as a Republican but plans to wait until after the college football season wraps up before making a final call.
With the national championship game scheduled for Jan. 19, an announcement could come in late January or early February, the report stated.
