Rain and windy conditions are set to affect most of the East Midlands later this week

Severn Trent has issued advice to its customers ahead of " heavy downpours and strong winds ", which are to be expected this weekend.

The Met Office has forecast rain and windy conditions on Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15, with much of the East Midlands affected by flood warnings.

"In the past, strong winds have caused travel disruption , structural damage to buildings, uprooted trees and even caused power cuts," a Severn Trent spokesperson said.
