A Cambridge college has been put into "lockdown" after a hoax email was sent to the school. Chesterton Community College in Girton Road , Cambridge was put into lockdown earlier this morning (Thursday, November 13).
This was due to reports of "concern" after an email was sent to the school. Cambridgeshire Police were called to the school and the school was closed as a precaution.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to Chesterton Community College at 10.36am with reports of concern following an email which has been sent to the school. The school closed as a precaution and officers attended.
"While the threat has been assessed as not credible, officers helped school staff to check the building and grounds to reassure the school community. Nothing of concern was found and enq
