Top-seeded Haddon Heights continued its quest for its first sectional championship since winning it in 2015 and 2016 after defeating Senece 2-1 in penalty kicks in the South Jersey, Group 2 semifinals in Haddon Heights.

Allie Agin gave Haddon Heights (16-4-1) a 1-0 lead in the first half with an assist from Emma Harris, but Johanna Strobl tied things up in the second off an assist from Hannah Eichman.

Callee Barr stood strong in net for Haddon Heights with 15 saves and bested Seneca’s goalkeeper, Chloe Carbone, by one save in the penalty shootout. The Garnets won it 8-7.

It marked Haddon Heights’ first semifinal appearance since 2018.

The Garnets moved to 6-0-1 in their last seven games.

Seneca (11-7-2) entered the game 9-2-1 in its last 12 games and won back-to-back sectional titles
