Ace India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s X post on Shardul Thakur’s transfer from the Lucknow Super Giants to the Mumbai Indians has gone viral, with the former acknowledging that he did make a goof-up with the reveal of the trade, even before reports and the official announcement came along.

Thakur was on Thursday traded to the Mumbai Indians on Thursday for Rs 2 crore ahead of IPL 2026.

Notably, on Wednesday, Ashwin had revealed on his YouTube channel that Thakur was a closed trade deal already between Lucknow and Mumbai. His reveal came hours before reports surfaced of the same and the official announcement came only a day later.
