PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After 43 days, the federal government is back open.

President Donald Trump signed a bill on Wednesday night to end the shutdown just a few of hours after it was passed by the House.

What does this mean for SNAP recipients?

There is still some uncertainty as to when people across the country, and in Arizona, will get their full November SNAP benefits. There’s a provision in the bill that calls for restarting SNAP, but it’s unclear exactly when benefits will be loaded on to EBT cards so families can buy groceries.

About 42 million Americans rely on the food assistance, and on average, it’s about $190 a month. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Agriculture says funding would be available in most states within 24 hours.
