PUERTO PEÑASCO, MEXICO (AZFamily) — What a week it has been for the natural wonders of our beautiful world. These dynamic, visually pleasing displays have been in full view from our amazing desert sky to the sparkling, sandy beaches just south of the border!
On Wednesday, a monster solar storm produced a dazzling view of the Northern Lights across the state. While those energized particles were draping our desert horizon in pink and red, the pounding surf in Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) was producing a completely different light display across the sand.
According to the city’s Office of Conventions and Visitors , millions of living organisms in the sea were shining brightly in a rare occurrence of what is called bioluminescence.
