A road accident occurred near Navale Bridge on the outskirts of Pune on Thursday evening after a truck’s brakes failed, leading to a collision involving 20 to 25 vehicles. A car trapped between a truck and a container caught fire, killing nine people on the spot.

Police said five of the deceased were inside the car, while the truck and container drivers also died in the crash.

The accident took place near Bhorgaon on the Pune–Nashik Highway. The impact was so severe that the car was completely crushed between the heavy vehicles and burst into flames within seconds.
