The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind affecting parts of the UK for 12 hours on Friday, November 14.

It comes amid warnings of Storm Claudia, named by Spanish weather agency AEMET, which is set to affect UK weather on Friday, bringing "strong, gusty winds" and heavy rain to the country.

As of Thursday, November 13, the Spanish storm is currently affecting western Iberia and the Canary Islands, but by Friday, November 14, it is set to bring heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the UK including north west Wales and north west England.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said: “Storm Claudia will bring very heavy rainfall to a large swathe of central and southern England and Wales on Friday into Saturday.
