Red Cup Day has arrived at Reno Starbucks locations.

Today, Nov. 13, Starbucks is offering free, reusable red cups with the purchase of a holiday beverage.

Red Cup Day also coincides with a strike approved by Starbucks union members on Nov. 5 unless a contract agreement is reached. Starbucks Workers United said its three core demands include better hours, higher take-home pay and resolutions for alleged unfair labor practices.

Starbucks spokesperson Jaci Anderson told USA TODAY on Nov. 12 the "overwhelming majority" of its locations are expected to remain open and serve customers as normal on Red Cup Day, adding that less than 1% of its coffeehouses have been impacted by strike activity in the past.
