CHAMBLEE, Ga. — Grammy-nominated rapper and "Locked Up" singer Akon was taken into custody in Chamblee after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Roswell.
According to the incident report, officers were called to Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Peachtree Boulevard at around 11:07 a.m. for a wanted person alert for a white Tesla truck on Nov. 7.
Police searched the area and located the vehicle at Tint World, located at 3633 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, and a man, Akon — whose legal name is Aliuane Badara Thiam — matching the description of the registered owner beside it, according to the report. The report states Akon was at the location to drop off his vehicle for service.
