Philadelphia’s Independence Hall will be closed to visitors through the rest of the year and into late January as officials prepare for the 250 th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.

The building, located on 520 Chestnut Street, closed to visitors on Thursday, Nov. 13, and will remain closed until Jan. 28, 2026.

During the closure, preservation teams will undergo interior work to prepare Independence Hall for next year’s 250 th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
