A New Orleans East charter school network will close Sarah T. Reed High School and combine three other schools due to declining enrollment and disappointing academic outcomes, network leaders said.
The Einstein Charter Schools board voted Tuesday to shutter Reed High School after this school year, marking the second time the low-performing school has been shut down in just over a decade. The charter network’s three other schools — Sherwood Forest, Village De L’est and Einstein Middle School — will merge operations as one K-8 school at the campus currently occupied by Sherwood Forest, said Einstein CEO Tara Johnson.
