Torbay says water levels on North Pond are starting to rise, however, high winds have stirred up sediment which has blocked the intake pipe. Crews are currently clearing that sediment.

In September, the town implemented a water ban after warning of “critically low water levels” on the pond.

While things have improved somewhat, a precautionary boil water order is now in place for anyone who gets their drinking water from North Pond.

The town is exploring measures to supplement North Pond’s water supply and water samples have been collected and submitted for testing. Results are expected in the next week.
