President Donald Trump has been heavily critical of the NFL during his two terms in office, but new data actually backs up one of his most recent football-related hot takes.

Two months before defeating Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, Donald Trump called the new NFL kickoff rules “beginning of the end” for the league. Trump reiterated that point in March, calling the implementation of the new kickoff rules “a terrible mistake.”

During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Veterans Day, Trump continued to criticize the kickoff rule, saying it “hurts the game.” The 79-year-old called them “dangerous” and said he even shared his opinion with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
