One driver was injured and another charged after a two-vehicle collision in Wheatley on Thursday, Chatham-Kent police say.

One driver was injured and another charged after a two-vehicle collision on Erie Street North in Wheatley on Thursday evening, Chatham-Kent police say.

One driver, a 57-year-old Wheatley woman, was taken to hospital, police said.

The driver of a second vehicle, a 39-year-old Leamington man, was arrested and taken to the Leamington OPP detachment for further breath testing.

He subsequently was charged with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Operation while impaired – blood-alcohol concentration over 80 mg.

The accused was taken to Chatham-Kent police headquarters, where he was released with a court date.
