State Sen. Claudia Kauffman, D-Kent, will run for reelection to represent the 47th Legislative District.
Kauffman, who made history as the first Native American woman elected to the Senate, said she is running to continue delivering results for South King County families and to ensure that government remains focused on affordability, opportunity and community, according to a Nov. 10 media release.
“Serving the people of the 47th District has been the honor of my life,” said Kauffman, whose four-year term expires at the end of 2026. “We have accomplished so much together, but there is more work to do. I am running for reelection to keep fighting for families, improve safety on our roads, make housing more affordable, and invest in the future of South King County.”
