A man who fled police while they were in search of a vehicle in Wodonga had a rusted old firearm fall out of his waistband.

Officers had been called to the area around Roadshow Drive about 1.50pm on February 14.

They were searching for a Honda, and found Zachary Bevan standing next to the vehicle.

Police had a conversation with Bevan, who ran to a nearby car yard.

He resisted officers as they tried to handcuf
