Heavy rain and strong winds will continue overnight, forecasters predict, as Storm Claudia battered the country today.
The Met Office said that winds had reached speeds of up to 60mph across the North West, with flood alerts also being issued in some places.
The strong winds have caused disruption on the train and Metrolink networks.
However a yellow weather warning is due to expire at midnight tonight. More rain is expected tomorrow, before it is expected to dry up on Sunday.

The Met Office said: "Storm Claudia is bringing heavy and persistent rain to England and Wales with 81.8mm already recorded between 1800 Thursday and 1600 Friday at a Natural Resources Wales rain gauge at Tafalog in Gwent.
