TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida A&M University has appointed a new vice president and director of athletics.
President Marva Johnson announced John F. Davis to the role on Friday.
This comes as Johnson is restructuring the athletics leadership team.
Angela Suggs, former athletic director, will return to the university as a special assistant to the president and advisor for intercollegiate athletics, Johnson announced Friday.
The interim Director of Athletics, Michael Smith, will continue to lead the athletics department until Davis takes over on January 5, 2025.
In a release, Johnson highlighted Davis’ ability to manage complex enterprises and overseeing budgets.
“His selection marks a new era of innovation, fiscal discipline and transformational leadership for FAMU Athletics,”
