EUGENE, Ore-- Oregon cross country will be heading back to the NCAA Championships once again.
On Friday both the Oregon men's & women's teams secured national qualifying bids at the NCAA West Region Championships.
For the Oregon men the team would collect their first regional title since 2014 while the UO women would finish as runner-ups at the meet.
Diana Cherotich and Silan Ayyildiz finished 2nd & 3rd in the 6k along with a top-10 finish by Anika Thompson (9th). Cherotich, this year's Big Ten Champion posted a final time of 19:12.6 while Ayyildiz would finish in 19:16.8 and Thompson in 19:48.0. Mia Barnett was the fourth UO runner across the line, clocking in at 19:58.2, finishiung 12th overall, good for all-region honors.
