WACO, Texas — As the holiday season approaches, the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program is working to ensure no child in Central Texas wakes up empty-handed on Christmas morning.
The program, which has been connecting generous community members with children in need since 1979, is now accepting donations at multiple locations across McLennan and Bell counties.
"There's so many people out in our community that's hurting and struggling right now, and especially at this time in history," said Major Tammy Miracle, Salvation Army corps officer. "So the community stepping in and helping provide toys and clothing for those children relieves some pressure from mom and dad and helps everybody have a better Christmas Day."
