In the Canucks' world, staggering run of injuries is all relative

Thatcher Demko officially hit injured reserve on Friday, which was expected.

With the goalie out week to week — as relayed by a team source — that he would land on the injured list was pretty much inevitable. No sense in not using his roster spot for a healthy body while he’s out.

It has been a staggering run of injuries for the Vancouver Canucks so far this season. The team has already used 28 skaters.

That’s in just 18 games. The Canucks used 37 skaters during all of last season, which includes a couple of late-season cameos for guys such as Ty Mueller and Kirill Kudryavtsev.
