LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The former Trimble County sheriff, who is facing a sexual abuse claim, has been granted new bond conditions.
On November 1, Charles Kelton turned himself in on charges of sexual abuse and official misconduct, facing an allegation from his time in office. He was released after posting a $5,000 surety bond, with conditions that he wear an ankle monitor, stay on the home incarceration program (HIP) and have no contact with the alleged victim.
According to court documents, he forced himself onto a Trimble County Attorney’s Office employee back while on duty and in uniform. The alleged incident happened in February, several months before his retirement.
