DEXTER, Maine (WABI) - The Dexter Tigers won $75,000 in the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights online vote contest for football facility upgrades.
First, the Tigers made the top 25 for $25,000.
Then, they earned another $50,000 for finishing in third place.
Dexter and T-Mobile held a check presentation at the school to celebrate the community’s effort in the contest.
“We’re very appreciative for all the support we’ve had across the state of Maine. We’ve had people reaching out across the country saying they were voting for us, so that feels really good for a small community in Maine,” said Adam Gudroe, Dexter Regional High School athletic director, assistant principal.
The T-Mobile money will be Dexter’s seed money for a lighted football stadium.
