GREENSBORO, N.C. — Border Patrol agents could arrive in Charlotte as early as Saturday, according to Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden , who said two federal officials confirmed the planned operation. The development follows weeks of speculation, including an Oct. 14 X post from Border Patrol Commander Gregory K. Bovino, who wrote, “We’ll put Charlotte on the list!!!” during the ongoing federal operation in Chicago known as Operation Midway Blitz .
Local and state leaders in Charlotte say they still have no details from federal agencies about when or where any operation may occur. At a press conference Friday , elected officials raised concerns about transparency and community impact.
