DODGEVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - With the holiday season nearing, health officials say now is the time to get COVID and flu shots—but changing federal guidelines have created confusion about vaccine recommendations.
In September, the CDC stopped recommending COVID shots for anyone six months and older. Despite that guidance, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and other health officials continue to recommend the vaccine for people six months and up.
At Hometown Pharmacy in Dodgeville, pharmacist Nicole Kamholz said she has seen misinformation about vaccines.
“Plenty of people have been coming to us with questions regarding if they need a prescription for the vaccine because there were conflicting recommendations at the start of the year, and people might see different things online,”
