AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Local nonprofits are preparing for more people than ever to need their services this holiday season.
Whether it’s a hot meal, a blanket or warm clothes, or even just a clean shower and a place to do laundry.
Compass for Hope is expanding its winter offerings to meet growing demand. The organization provides showers, laundry facilities, toiletries and snacks year-round, but adds seasonal items during colder months.
“As our normal service, we do the showers and the laundry and the toiletries and snacks, but we have seasonal things that we do. Like in the wintertime, we add blankets and coats and beanie hats and hand warmers, things like that,” said Mike Garrison, executive director of Compass for Hope. “Also, of course, with the holidays, we always try to do som
