NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two people have been transported to the hospital after a traffic incident in North Augusta on Friday.

At 6:05 p.m. officers with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the 600 block of Old Edgefield Road for a pedestrian that was struck.

On scene, officers found two pedestrians had been struck by a car that was traveling north on Old Edgefield Road towards North Augusta Middle School.

Officers say one of the pedestrians was in a wheelchair and the other was pushing the wheelchair.

The car involved stayed on the scene, according to the department.

Officers say that due to severity of the injuries, both individuals were transported to the hospital by EMS.
