It was a year ago that we brought you the story of a mother desperately searching for a cure for her daughter's rare, genetic, terminal illness.
Well, now there is a treatment, but that mother has another major mountain to climb.
Three years ago, on Valentine's Day, Kirk and Morgan Rachal, of Natchitoches, found out they were going to have another little girl. As baby Lydia grew with big sister Heidi, they noticed thick eyebrows, along with frequent ear infections, and digestive problems, all thought to be common childhood conditions. But then Morgan's mom saw a TikTok video of a girl in Wisconsin who looked similar. It looked like Lydia's twin. That little girl had a rare genetic disorder, Sanfilippo Syndro
