FARGO — U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., met with North Dakota leaders Friday to discuss plans for using more than $50 million to strengthen state agriculture.

At a roundtable event at North Dakota State University, Hoeven met with representatives of several state commodities, including corn, soybeans and sugar beets.

The funding was passed through the 2026 Agriculture Appropriations legislation. It includes about $25 million for agricultural research in the state with NDSU and its partners, an additional $18.5 million for NDSU-led initiatives and the remaining $10.5 million going toward multiple agricultural research projects.
