LINCOLN, Neb. —
The University of Nebraska is shooting for its second win in a row in the Abbott-Big Ten Blood Drive competition.
The university held an all-day blood drive Friday at Memorial Stadium in an effort to secure first place.
Over the past few weeks, it's been a foot race between Nebraska and Wisconsin. If Nebraska places first, it'll be its second year winning in a row.
“Since we won it last year, we really do expect to take it again this year,” Nebraska Community Blood Bank’s Kari Lundeen said.
She said last year was the first Abbott-Big Ten Blood Drive competition , and Huskers do not want to lose that winning streak.
