DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is taking a fresh, focused approach to long, unsolved crimes, continuing to make good on their promises to families who are still waiting for answers.

They hired veteran investigator Mike O’Herron to fill the role of the first ever cold case detective.

O’Herron’s job is solely dedicated to those old cases and getting answers, and justice for families.

“Recently, the Sheriff approached me about this position and I slept on it once or twice and it seemed like it was a good fit,” DCSO cold case detective Mke O’Herron said.

Sheriff Brad Youngman says he knew O’Herron was the right person for the job, especially because of his temperament, patience, and analytical skills.
