FRANKFORT, Ky. (WFIE) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says Kentuckians could see their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits as early as Saturday.

In a news release, the Governor says members of Team Kentucky worked through the night to process benefits as quickly as possible, after the announcement Friday of the state receiving approval to fully fund SNAP benefits.

Governor Beshear says, “Despite the President’s refusal to release these benefits, Kentucky has remained committed to doing everything we can to be there for our neighbors. Our government should fight hunger – not cause it – and we’re committed to leading with our values and doing what’s right.”
