The New York Knicks will hope to keep their NBA Cup dreams alive without one of their top wings.
Forward OG Anunoby has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday’s NBA Cup group-play game against the Miami Heat after suffering a left hamstring strain, the team announced in the second quarter.
Anunoby suffered the injury midway through the first quarter. After missing a layup, he appeared to be grabbing at his hamstring, and following a timeout, he was subbed off and returned to the team’s locker room.
The 28-year-old has been a key contributor for the 7-4 Knicks, averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.1 steals while playing 33.5 minutes a night.
