COLUMBUS, Ohio —
Ohio lawmakers have advanced a bill that would roll back long-standing restrictions on how late the state's youngest workers can clock out.
Senate Bill 50 would allow Ohio employers to extend work hours for 14-year-olds and 15-year-olds from 7-9 p.m. at any time of the year. Teenagers would need permission from their parents to work those later hours. Advertisement
The proposal has the support of business groups like the Ohio Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance , which represents nearly 25,000 restaurants and more than 564,000 employees across the state.
