BOSSIER CITY, La. – A grant from the Arbor Day Foundation was awarded to the Keep Bossier Beautiful foundation, providing the resources for them to use to help replenish the tree canopy in the community.
Tree canopies in the Bossier community have been affected by storms, new construction and high winds. The Barkstdale Federal Credit Union is also providing flags for their campaign “Plant a flag, plant a tree.”
The event starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the Airline High School stadium.
Attendees get a free tree to plant and are asked to put them in their yards at home or at their businesses. Additionally, the event will honor our veterans.
The organization plans to give away 400 trees. Recipients are asked to fly the flag, given with the tree, to help the organization
