TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Arizona cannabis dispensaries welcome the federal government’s crackdown on a loophole.

Congress agreed to outlaw hemp products with a low concentration of THC, which takes them out of places other than dispensaries.

The hemp industry, dispensaries, and law enforcement agree that a previous farm bill in 2018 needed some clarity on hemp with low concentrations of THC, and the vote to end the shutdown delivered.

“When somebody who is not even old enough to buy liquor is able to go and get a new chemical derivative of THC, I do think that can be really dangerous,” said Moe Asnani, a partner in D2 Dispensaries.
