BATON ROUGE, La. —
Parents, caregivers, and health care providers are being advised by the Louisiana Department of Health to discard ByHeart infant formula due to a botulism contamination.
The infant formula was recalled because it may be contaminated with the bacteria, Clostridium botulinum, which can make infants sick. Advertisement
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration are investigating the outbreak, and as a result, ByHeart voluntarily recalled all powdered Whole Nutrition Infant Formula.
The company is working with retailers throughout Louisiana to ensure the infant formula is removed from shelves.
