BOISE, Idaho — Following the announcement last month that Mountain Home Air Force Base would host a training facility for the Qatari Emiri Air Force and its personnel as part of a military exchange, questions arose about the agreement. On Friday, the base commander spoke to the Idaho Legislature's Committee on Federalism.

Col. David Gunter, commander of the 366th Fighter Wing, provided the committee with new details about the agreement with Qatar.

On October 10, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the partnership, which will allow Qatari pilots to train alongside U.S. Air Force personnel. The base will also host a contingent of F-15s and pilots from the Qatar Emiri Air Force.
