HURRICANE — An 11-year-old student was hit by a Washington County School District school bus on Friday after running into the roadway, according to Hurricane City Police Department.

Police said at approximately 11:30 a.m., medics arrived on the scene and provided immediate medical care. The student was transferred to St. George Regional Medical Center.

The student was reportedly from Hurricane Intermediate School, according to initial reports from on-scene witnesses, police said.

The bus involved had students on board, but police said that no one on the bus was injured.

Police said the student was reported to be in stable condition with a possible head injury and no further details are available at this time.
