(WNDU) - Six teams from Michiana entered the regional round of the playoffs looking to keep their state title hopes alive. Three of them were successful.

Concord (Class 5A), South Bend Saint Joseph (Class 4A) and Knox (3A) all advanced to semi-state after winning regional championships on Friday night.

The Minutemen (11-1) defeated Lafayette Jeff 47-45 after recovering an onside kick with less than a minute to go and kicking a game-winning field goal as time expired, the Huskies (12-1) beat Hobart 10-7 to win their first regional title since 2015 and the Redskins (13-0) took down Angola 28-21 as Myles McLaughlin broke the national record for rushing touchdowns in a single season.

On the flip side, Penn, Michigan City and LaVille saw their seasons come to an end.
