PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - In the WYMT ARH Game of the Week, Covington Catholic ended Johnson Central’s season for the third straight time, 36-29.
The Golden Eagles looked poised to end their six-game losing streak against the Colonels, racing out to an early 14-0 lead. Covington Catholic, though, scored 21 unanswered to take a seven-point halftime advantage.
After the Colonels led, 28-21 one point in the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles got a score from JD Morris. Jesse Peck’s crew went ahead after getting the two-point conversion to make it 29-28.
Covington Catholic took the lead for good with a rushing score from Dylan Gaiser.
Johnson Central’s last opportunity to tie the game failed when the Colonels tipped a pass before going incomplete.
