DEWITT — Channing Ridley can remember the days in grade school when he would race against his peers.
And the DeWitt sophomore often remembers crossing the finish line and then having time to wait and look back as others eventually finished.
That speed has long been on display to those around DeWitt.
But other teams in Greater Lansing and across the state have now gotten a glimpse of that speed throughout the fall as Ridley has made a big mark for the DeWitt football team in his first full season of varsity.
Ridley added to his success by using that speed to score three different ways while contributing to DeWitt recording a 70-26 victory over Fenton in a Division 3 regional final.
