WILLIAMSTON — A season that wound up being one of the best in program history for the Williamston football team ended in a regional on Friday, Nov. 14.
The Hornets fell 41-33 in a clash of unbeatens to reigning Division 4 state champion Goodrich in the regional final. Williamston, which had its first perfect regular season in program history, ends the fall with an 11-1 record.
This season marked a big bounce back year for the Hornets, who had an eight-win improvement after finishing3-7 in 2024.
Goodrich, the Flint Metro League champion, pulled away with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Martians led 28-27 entering the fourth quarter before finding the end zone twice to gain some separation.
