No one from the Rockford-area contingent made it out of Friday's preliminaries at the girls state swim and dive competition in Westmont, seeing their seasons come to a close after the first day of state.

With only the top 20 divers and the top 16 swimmers from each event advancing to the Nov. 15 state finals, no one from the Rockford area even came close.
