A surgeon from Pathankot who previously worked at Haryana's terror-tainted Al-Falah University has been detained in connection with the Red Fort blast case . The surgeon, Dr Rayees Ahmad Bhat, was picked up from questioning after investigators found that he was allegedly in touch with Dr Umar Nabi, who blew up a car near Delhi's Red Fort, killing 13 people.
The 45-year-old surgeon, who is presently with White Medical College in Pathankot, worked from 2020-2021 at Faridabad's Al-Falah University - the same institution where Dr Umar was based. However, investigators found that Dr Bhat was in regular touch with staff at Al-Falah University.
