A week after a woman's body with her head severed was found in a drain in Noida, police have solved the case and arrested the killer, who turned out to be her lover. The case, which sent police into a tizzy, unravelled after the arrest of the woman's lover, Monu Solanki, a bus driver. Solanki, who is already married, revealed a tale of a love affair gone wrong and blackmail, which prompted him to commit the crime.

On November 6, a woman's dismembered body was found in a drain near a posh locality in Noida Sector 108. Both hands of the woman, identified as Preeti Yadav, and her head were severed. It made the identification of the woman nearly impossible. Multiple police teams were formed to crack the case.
