President Donald Trump signed legislation on Nov. 12 effectively ending the government shutdown that lasted 43 days, making it the longest shutdown in history.
This legislation will fund most federal agencies until Jan. 30, 2026 and will fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through September 2026, CBS News reported.
Initially, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said that it would not fund SNAP for the month of November if the shutdown continued.
