Rishabh Pant created a major milestone on Day 2 of the first Test between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The wicketkeeper-batter overtook Virender Sehwag to become the Indian player with the most sixes in Test cricket.

Pant recorded his 92nd six in only his 83rd Test innings, moving past Sehwag’s tally of 91. His achievement marks another chapter in his evolving reputation as one of India’s most attacking Test batters.

Batting at No. 5, Pant scored 27 runs from 24 deliveries. His quick cameo featured two boundaries and two sixes, both struck against spinner Keshav Maharaj. The first came through an aggressive lofted shot over mid-off, and the second was a powerful hit down the ground that carried into the stands beyond long-on.

Pant now ranks seventh on the all-time
